At the APLA Conference in Halifax in June, you will be greeted by Grow a Library Committee members shortly after you leave the Registration Desk. We will be selling Grow a Library stickers for $5.00 and you won’t want to leave the lobby without one!

You’ll see delegates throughout the conference halls proudly sporting the Grow a Library sticker on their badges and you might feel naked without one! Please bring your $5.00 in cash and don’t forget to pick up your badge sticker when you arrive.

The student chapter of the Canadian Library Association at Dalhousie University
has a challenge for all library groups in the Atlantic Provinces.  During two
days of intensive cupcake selling we raised exactly $100 which we are donating
to support ALPA's efforts to sponsor a library in eastern Ethiopia.  The Mojo
reading room is located in Harare and they are in need of funds to fill a new
larger space with materials.

The student CLA student executive would like to challenge any and all other
library groups to meet or exceed our $100 dollar donation to this very
deserving cause.  Start your fundraising today and post your resulting donation
to the APLA listserv.

 The Mojo reading room is a small library, located in the Harare Region in eastern Ethiopia. It is the only library in the town. The library has been so busy that the community has provided a new, larger, building to house it. By adopting this library, we can help the community to refurbish their new space, build their collection of local language (Oromiffa) and English reading materials, provide professional support for teachers using the library, and help train local people in library management skills.

The Nominations Committee is collecting nominations for positions on the APLA executive which will be vacant in 2009-2010. We are seeking nominations for the following positions:
