Continuing Education

Purpose:

To provide a forum for the discussion of continuing education issues within APLA.

Terms of reference:

  • As a primary objective, to promote communication among members and to make the interest group visible to all members of the Association.
  • Responsible for at least one article a year in the APLA Bulletin.
  • Organize a session at each APLA annual conference to increase the visibility of the interest group and communication amongst APLA members.

Goals:

  • To ensure that a mechanism exists within APLA to allow it to fulfill its continuing education mandate.
  • To provide analyses of professional literature with a view to identifying professional issues and trends for the membership.
  • To provide regional continuing education coordinators and conference program committees with information on issues and trends this, together with ideas from other Interest Groups, might provide continuing education opportunities.

Relationships:

The interest group will inform the association of its activities via APLA Bulletin submissions. The Continuing Education Interest Group works with other APLA interest groups to encourage the development of continuing education opportunities for APLA members.

Membership:

Membership is open to all APLA members.

Reports:

A written report on the year's activity will be presented to the general membership at the Ordinary General Meeting of APLA. A copy of this report will be submitted to the APLA Bulletin.
