Call for Volunteers
The Partnership Journal is seeking 3 new editors. Partnership is published twice yearly in Spring and Fall.
Conference Spotlight Editor
This section features submissions based on excellent conference presentations from Canadian library or library-related conferences and may take the form of either a traditional article, an online poster, or multimedia presentation.
The editor is responsible for seeking out nominations and submissions of excellent conference presentations for the journal. She or he is also responsible for managing submissions in this section from the submission stage through peer-review, copyediting, layout and publishing using a web-based submission management system. The position requires a time commitment, on average, of approximately five hours per month, with peak times occurring when the submission deadlines approach and again closer to the publication time.
Profiles Editor
The Profiles section consists of a series of questions and answers designed to allow members of the library community to get to know one another. Please see the current copy of the journal for examples of the Profiles section: http://journal.lib.uoguelph.ca/index.php/perj/issue/current/showToc
The editor is responsible for developing a questionnaire (Survey Monkey has been used in the past), promoting the questionnaire through the various provincial library associations, compiling the completed questionnaires for publication, uploading the profiles to the journal system and managing the submissions through the various stages of the publishing process: copyediting, layout, and publishing using a web-based submission management system. The time requirement for this position will vary, with the peak times occurring closer to publication dates. On average, the time commitment is approximately 3 hours per month.
French Editor
Finally the Partnership Journal is seeking a French Editor. The editor, in this newly created position, will work in conjunction with section editors in managing French submissions from the submission stage through peer-review, copyediting, layout and publishing using a web-based submission management system. The position requires a time commitment, on average, of approximately 2-3 hours per month, with peak times occurring when the submission deadlines approach and again closer to the publication time. The French editor will also assist in the identification of French peer reviewers and complete the final copyediting for French submissions. The journal normally receives only 1-2 articles in French per issue.
Please send a brief letter of interest and a cv to Jennifer Richard at Jennifer.richard@acadiau.ca by April 17. The Partnership’s Volunteers Committee will select the successful candidates shortly after the closing date.
