Not sure what Games@theLibrary week is all about, or how to get started? We have resources to help you with ideas and to promote your event(s).Events can range from board games and chess, to trivia and scavenger hunts, to video games. Events can be geared towards specific groups or the whole community. Larger public libraries may consider having separate events for kids, tweens & teens, or seniors. You are limited only by your imagination and energy levels! Our goal is to show that libraries are places where people meet, learn, and have fun.

We had over 70 children, teens and adults attend. We had board games, toss games, card games, coloring sheets and word finds! they brought their own (even a homemade Newfoundland themed Monopoly game!!) and we had others provided. We also used our projector to hook up a Nintendo Wii to the big screen and also had an xbox hooked up to the big tv. It was a roaring success!

All students below Grade 4 are required to be accompanied by an adult. If you haven't already filled out a ballot for the APLA grand prize of a Nintendo 3DS this would be a great time to do that. If this Games Day is a success we plan to continue it throughout the year. So come join us for an afternoon of fun!
During the week of October 17 - 23 each household in Churchill Falls will be receiving a puzzle piece in their mailbox. Come to the library and see if your puzzle piece fits into one of the missing spaces of our puzzle.
There will be 10 winning puzzle pieces eligible for prizes but every person who visits the library to try their puzzle piece will also be eligible to win a KOBO reader and have a ballot entered for the APLA grand prize of a Nintendo 3DS. Hope to see you all there!
